Riverbed, a San Francisco–based leader in network and application performance, depended heavily on support service renewals for revenue but lacked the analytics to turn its abundant hardware and telemetry data into actionable renewal insights. Renewal drivers were anecdotal and no model existed to guide initiatives to improve renewal rates.

Riverbed deployed Oracle Analytics on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to create an AI-ready data fabric combining contract expirations, service cases, product mix, device telemetry, discount rates and sales history. The models revealed concrete renewal indicators, enabling targeted outreach to uncovered customers and better resource planning—within one quarter renewal forecast accuracy and early renewals each rose 8%, and on-time renewals improved 16%.
