Richard Crookes Constructions engaged an external expert to drive a company-wide digital transformation with a strong focus on BIM, targeting 95% adoption over five years. They faced challenges providing technology that supports different client and project stages, optimizing BIM benefits across teams and phases, capturing data for operations and maintenance, and educating internal and external stakeholders on digital workflows.

Using Oracle’s Project Controls and Collaboration (Aconex Connected BIM) as a common data environment, the team provided configurable, project-specific access to models without special authoring or viewing software and involved the wider team from conceptual design onward. Results included about 5% fewer RFIs, 3–5% fewer variations and claims, roughly 50% faster variation review and resolution, and reduced time managing claims thanks to clear decision records and easy access to full project history.
