Refinaria Nacional de Sal Improves Quality Control by Standardizing Financial, Production, and Distribution Processes

Refinaria Nacional de Sal S/A (Sal Cisne), a São Paulo–based salt producer founded in 1949 that manufactures 20,000 tons of salt monthly for food, medical, and industrial uses, needed to replace a 20‑year‑old ERP to standardize and integrate financial, production, and distribution processes. The company also sought to eliminate manual data entry to increase security, automate and centralize quality‑control lab data to speed batch releases, and deliver faster tax, financial, and commercial reporting for managers.

Refinaria implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 with Oracle Database, Linux, Enterprise Manager, and the Oracle User Productivity Kit, completing the rollout in 12 months and training about 200 users across three sites. The new system unified financial, manufacturing, and distribution data, removed paper‑based quality‑control processes, consolidated laboratory test records for better traceability, and accelerated financial reporting and decision‑making.
