REDISA Starts New Era in African Waste Stream Management, Launches Scrap Tire Initiative in Just 60 Days with Out-of-the-Box Technology

REDISA NPC is a South African non‑profit created to build a sustainable, country‑wide scrap‑tire recycling industry and eliminate millions of hazardous tires from dumps and stockpiles. After government approval it needed to launch an integrated waste‑management program quickly, collect industry fees from tire manufacturers and importers to fund nationwide collection, transport, storage and recycling, recruit and onboard staff, and run logistics, billing and compliance with low IT overhead.

REDISA deployed an out‑of‑the‑box Oracle technology stack and partners to go live in 60 days: Oracle Financials for revenue and invoicing, Taleo for rapid recruiting and onboarding, Oracle Transportation Management to coordinate 1,600 weekly pickups, Oracle Database and Database Vault for secure core data, BPM to connect web and mobile portals, Spatial and Graph for regional BI, and BI EE and Content Manager for reporting and communications. The result was a fast, compliant launch with immediate invoicing, efficient nationwide logistics and reporting, job creation across regions, and growing stakeholder adoption of the program.
