RaiaDrogasil relies on Oracle Cloud to help safeguard customer data

RaiaDrogasil, Brazil’s largest drugstore chain, needed a more scalable and secure way to support nonstop operations across 2,600 pharmacies, 11 distribution centers, and its Vitat health platform. With massive transaction volumes and more than 30 years of data, the company wanted a disaster recovery approach that could protect critical systems and keep medicine sales and supply chain operations running. It turned to Oracle, using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Exadata Database Service.

Oracle implemented a hybrid disaster recovery solution with Oracle Exadata Database Service on OCI, connected through FastConnect for real-time data synchronization. The result was a backup process reduced from 10 days to 10 hours, recovery time cut from days to hours, and 75% lower hardware costs over three years. Oracle also helped RaiaDrogasil maintain high availability for pharmacy systems and enabled analytics with Oracle Analytics Cloud to improve customer engagement and forecasting.
