A Oracle Case Study
Radixx International, founded in 1995, created the first Windows‑based airline reservations platform to let carriers sell seats and ancillary products through any channel. The company needed a powerful, flexible database that could handle extreme transaction volumes, scale as airlines expanded their offerings, and retain passenger data online for years to support marketing, sales, and CRM initiatives.
Radixx built its system on Oracle Database (upgraded to 11g), achieving about 4× faster query performance than competitors, supporting hundreds of thousands of concurrent users, and handling hundreds of millions of transactions—including 70 million availability requests on a single peak day. The solution delivered constant uptime, real‑time accounting, long‑term passenger data retention for targeted marketing, rapid zero‑downtime deployments, and plans to extend benefits via Oracle Database Appliance.
