Case Study: Murad achieves 30% cost savings and 20-30% performance gains with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

A Oracle Case Study

Prestige skincare line saves 30% by moving E-Business Suite, Demantra and OBIEE to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Murad, a prestige skincare brand owned by Unilever, faced strained back-office performance and rising infrastructure costs as its multi-channel business—including a 30% year-over-year growing e-commerce channel, infomercials, retailers and spas—outgrew its colocated hardware. The IT team needed faster ERP, supply chain, planning and BI reporting, lower high network-line and maintenance costs, and improved business continuity before an upcoming hardware refresh.

Murad piloted and migrated E-Business Suite, Demantra, OBIEE and Oracle Database to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (using BYOL), integrating with their AWS-hosted website via a secure tunnel and leveraging close Oracle support. The move delivered ~20–30% performance improvement (EBS reports cut from 15–20 minutes to ~5), BI reporting now runs in one-quarter the time, and overall infrastructure costs fell about 30%, freeing funds for further cloud initiatives like DBaaS and future SaaS adoption.
