Port of Fujairah is a major UAE multipurpose port handling cargo and oil traffic between East and West. Its aging hardware running Oracle E-Business Suite was causing slow application performance, long reporting and payroll runtimes, and risk of downtime—prompting a need for scalable, highly available infrastructure and a disaster‑recovery solution while lowering total cost of ownership.

The port deployed Oracle Database Appliance (X6‑2) with Oracle Real Application Clusters, supported by partner Gerab System Solutions, to consolidate workloads and introduce DR in a box. Results included reducing general‑ledger reports from 10 hours to minutes and payroll from 2 hours to minutes, eliminating downtime, improving user productivity and satisfaction, enabling capacity‑on‑demand scaling, and significantly lowering TCO.
