Perisher, Australia’s largest ski resort, faced a seasonal hiring challenge: manually screening more than 4,500 applications a year to fill about 1,200 seasonal roles (including up to 700 return staff and 500 new hires). The legacy process made it hard to track candidate status, deliver a good applicant experience—especially for overseas hires—and meet peak-season demand efficiently.
Perisher implemented Oracle Human Capital Management/Talent Acquisition Cloud, integrating a third-party video-interview tool and using the onboarding module to automate offer and contract workflows; the system went live in six months. The result: hiring managers reviewed roughly 4x fewer applications (from ~400 to <100 per month), contract processing became 7x faster (15 to 2 minutes), group scheduling dropped from two weeks to two days, overall hiring costs fell about 30%, paperwork and postage were eliminated, and candidate experience, new-hire quality, and HR productivity all improved.
