A Oracle Case Study
The Regency Hotel is a 203‑room, independently owned four‑star hotel in South Kensington, London, that had just completed a refurbishment and was looking for a modern property management system to improve guest service. During the selection process, PCI compliance emerged as a major, potentially expensive challenge requiring a thorough audit of card handling, storage, training, firewalls and the website.
The hotel chose Oracle Hospitality OPERA Property Standard Cloud Service, a cloud PMS with 55 needed applications that is PCI‑approved and removes local card storage through secure encryption. The solution simplified the audit by providing configurable security controls (passwords, access rights), enabled website and third‑party integrations that boosted rates, saved significant time and effort, and was judged by the GM to be excellent value.
