A Oracle Case Study
PARI Medical Holding GmbH, a century-old German developer of inhalation systems and centralized services for its group, needed a reliable, scalable and compliant database foundation to support production of regulated medical devices. Its environment contained multiple database versions and releases, driving high licensing costs, complex user-account and privilege administration, and risk to manufacturing and reporting processes.
Working with Oracle License Management Services and partner inforsacom, PARI consolidated its database estate and migrated production applications from Oracle Database Enterprise Edition to Standard Edition One, cutting future licensing costs by 50%. The project added partitioning, centralized access controls and automated monitoring with Oracle Enterprise Manager Diagnostics Pack, improving performance and reporting, simplifying user management, and easing regulatory compliance while retaining Oracle for SAP workloads.
