Overhead Door Corporation, a 3,500-employee manufacturer of residential, commercial, and industrial doors and openers, needed to consolidate decades of disparate HR systems and streamline core processes across 30 states, multiple bargaining units, and more than 70 compensation models. The company wanted to give a diverse workforce—from shop-floor employees to senior managers—convenient access to accurate HR, payroll, and benefits information, reduce IT complexity, and elevate HR into a more strategic role to support continued growth.
Overhead Door implemented Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud, launching core HR, self-service, payroll, compensation, and performance modules in about a year and adding kiosks for non-desk workers. The cloud solution created a single source of HR data, automated workflows, accelerated updates and benefits enrollment, removed paper checks and forms, improved multi-payroll precision, and cut IT overhead (requiring only one in-house support person). As a result, HR now spends more time on strategic initiatives, employees have 24/7 access to accurate HR information, and the company gains better visibility into talent and payroll across the enterprise.
