A Oracle Case Study
V5 Systems builds self-powered, portable outdoor Industrial IoT security units that provide edge video analytics, acoustics and chemical detection with real-time alerts and remote management. Facing limited scalability and high costs with a third‑party datacenter and prohibitive outbound data charges from a major cloud provider, V5 needed an industry‑grade public cloud that could deliver high availability while controlling operating expenses.
V5 migrated its Multi‑sensor Monitoring System (V5 MMS) SaaS to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, isolating customer data in individual VMs/storage and using a MEAN‑like stack with PostgreSQL. The Oracle solution lets V5 scale up individual deployments or scale out for growth, lowers outbound transfer costs (including the first 10 TB/month free), and uses availability domains with regional replication for durability and uptime. As a result, V5 is lowering costs, improving availability for customers, and rolling out cloud portals to accelerate new deployments.
