Oracle Stack Gives Banque Misr Liban New Banking Path

Banque Misr Liban S.A.L. (BML) is a Beirut-based bank serving around 50,000 customers that set out to modernize its infrastructure to support branch expansion, e‑banking and mobile services while cutting operating costs. BML needed a high‑performance, reliable platform to run fast queries and financial reports, store customer data with low total cost of ownership, and rely on vendor support rather than expanding internal staff.

BML implemented Oracle FLEXCUBE Universal Banking on Oracle Exadata (X5‑2) with Oracle Real Application Clusters, GoldenGate and Oracle support services, delivered with field coordination from partner ICC. The upgrade cut end‑of‑day processing from 6 hours to 1, doubled query speed and made reports up to 50% faster, enabled new ATM and channel services, freed 250 staff to focus on growth, improved storage efficiency (~40%), increased availability and disaster protection, reduced software license costs by ~50%, and supported scalable, energy‑efficient expansion.
