Oracle Latista Field Management Cloud Service and Clark Construction – Software Solutions Help Put Baseball Back in the Nation’s Capital

Clark Construction, a century-old, $4+ billion construction firm, joined Hunt and Smoot to build Washington, D.C.’s Nationals Park under an aggressive 23-month schedule. To meet the city’s opening-day deadline and manage a large subcontractor network, Clark needed faster, more accurate field processes to replace paper-based punch lists, drawings and manual reporting.

Clark deployed Oracle Latista Field Management Cloud Service on Motion tablet PCs to move the office to the job site—enabling offline data capture, photo documentation, handwriting-to-text, standardized punch-list symbols and instant synchronization via a web portal. The system cut turnaround time, reduced errors and staffing needs, resolved tens of thousands of punch-list items in four weeks, and helped deliver Nationals Park on time and within the $611 million budget; the stadium earned LEED Silver and multiple industry awards, and Clark adopted the solution companywide.
