Oracle Cloud helps IBVI create careers for the blind

IBVI, Industries for the Blind and Visually Impaired, needed a more accessible way to run its business after relying on homegrown systems that limited employees with visual impairments. The company wanted to better support its mission and create more career opportunities for a workforce that is more than 80% blind or visually impaired. Oracle Cloud Applications, including Oracle Cloud ERP, HCM, and CX Cloud, were used to address these challenges.

Oracle implemented Oracle Cloud Applications across finance, HR, procurement, ecommerce, and supply chain, with accessibility features that work with tools like JAWS and ZoomText. The result was greater independence for employees, especially in office roles, and the ability for staff to enter and track orders without constant sighted oversight. IBVI said Oracle Cloud improved access to information and helped open new career paths in finance, HR, and customer service.
