The National Information Processing Institute, a public research institute in Warsaw, Poland, needed a more secure way to protect highly sensitive data across a complex on-premises database environment while meeting GDPR requirements. It also wanted data masking for development and test systems, plus database activity auditing across Oracle Database, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL environments.

Oracle implemented Oracle Data Safe to provide cloud-based security for the institute’s on-premises databases, including comprehensive data masking and detailed auditing. The solution went in smoothly after a proof of concept, and the institute said Oracle Data Safe delivered strong support and a major cost advantage—described as a “game changer”—while giving it visibility into who accessed data, when, and with what privileges.
