NTT Docomo, Japan’s largest mobile service provider serving about 80 million users, needed higher performance, scalability, and reliability to handle real‑time processing of call, communication, and billing data and to support future growth across its corporate systems and 30 subsidiaries.

By deploying 100 Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer machines to consolidate existing Oracle databases, Docomo boosted database performance by up to 10X and cut operating and maintenance costs by up to 50%. The Exadata deployment also improved end‑user efficiency by rapidly processing massive data volumes and increased resiliency with real‑time copies at two disaster‑recovery sites for fast recovery and minimal data loss.
