NEC boosts productivity and app development on Oracle Cloud

NEC Corporation, through its NEC Enterprise Solutions division, wanted to improve partner and customer experiences and increase sales team productivity by modernizing an internally built CPQ application. The company moved the app from an on-premises Microsoft SQL Database environment to the cloud using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle-based services to enable faster deployments, better mobility, and improved access for users across the EMEA region.

With Oracle, NEC implemented Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing, Oracle Application Express (APEX), and Oracle Identity Cloud Service to automate database administration, strengthen security, and support single sign-on and multifactor authentication. The result was dramatically reduced maintenance effort, improved performance for hundreds of users, and faster application development—NEC said it could build applications much quicker with just three developers, and Oracle Cloud helped cut administrative workload while scaling capacity on demand.
