Nationwide Building Society, one of the UK’s largest savings and mortgage providers, needed to modernize its HR and talent-management capabilities across a 17,500-employee organization while reducing costs and preserving value from its existing PeopleSoft investment. The challenge was to deliver agile, user-friendly HR services and better workforce insight without a disruptive rip-and-replace.

Nationwide implemented a hybrid approach—upgrading PeopleSoft to 9.2 and adding Oracle HCM Cloud (Talent Management, Performance and Goal Management) plus BI and Helpdesk, with Accenture as implementation partner—rolled out over a three-year program. The result is a modern, integrated HR platform that delivers richer HR data, improved talent visibility and decision-making, streamlined IT, lower costs, and a clear path to full cloud adoption.
