A Oracle Case Study
National Pharmacies is an Australian retail and pharmaceutical mutual that sells health products and provides member services such as weight management and vaccinations. Facing five years of industry disruption, the company needed to move from a traditional IT model to a more agile, innovation‑focused platform that could connect JD Edwards and other core systems, improve in‑store and mobile customer and staff experiences, optimize supply‑chain workflows across 71 stores, and speed the launch of new services.
National Pharmacies adopted Oracle Cloud Platform (including Process Cloud, Mobile Cloud/MAF, SOA Suite and IaaS) and worked with DXC Red Rock and Rubicon Red to build a ProcureOne tablet app, an adaptive API layer and direct JD Edwards integrations. As a result, purchase orders are approved in minutes instead of hours; stocktaking is 30% faster and recovered 3,000 items; training costs fell 90% and national support costs 40%; scanner rollout costs dropped 20x; and the retailer can rapidly introduce new services (chatbots, at‑home care, etc.) while improving customer and employee experience.
