A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the Namoi Cotton Case Study

Namoi Cotton upgrades key apps on OCI, cutting costs and boosting performance

Namoi Cotton, Australia’s leading cotton processor, needed to modernize its end-of-life Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 applications and reduce the technical debt accumulated during drought and pandemic disruptions. The company also wanted to keep migration costs low while improving security, supportability, and performance, making Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) the target platform.

Oracle helped Namoi Cotton migrate and upgrade its JD Edwards environment to JDE 9.2 on OCI, with support from Oracle Cloud Lift Services and Fusion5. The project cost about AUD$120,000, more than 60% less than original quotes, cut ongoing maintenance costs, and improved application performance so that processes taking minutes now take seconds for around 200 users. Oracle also enabled Namoi Cotton to scale more easily as the business grows.
