Mynet adopts Oracle Cloud Guard to help protect against threats

Mynet, a Japan-based game app developer and publisher of more than 80 titles, faced major security challenges after a 2018 breach took 13 games offline for about four months and damaged user trust. With limited security staff and a growing number of titles on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Mynet needed a way to strengthen defenses and monitor cloud activity more effectively using Oracle Cloud Guard Threat Detector.

Oracle helped Mynet implement Cloud Guard Threat Detector on OCI, along with Identity and Access Management, encryption, compartmentalization, and an identity provider to improve security posture. After a successful proof of concept, Mynet began detecting malicious behavior and identifying spray attacks and account-sharing patterns, confirming it could spot internal or external threats. The solution enabled stronger countermeasures in just a few clicks and improved Mynet’s ability to prevent another incident.
