mStart Enhances Service and Reduces Transportation Costs with Oracle Big Data

mStart d.o.o., the Zagreb-based IT arm of the Agrokor Group, supports retail operations across five countries with about 2,000 stores and over a million loyalty customers. The company needed near-real-time analysis of large retail and loyalty datasets to improve customer service, optimize inventory and supply chains, reduce transportation costs, and meet group-wide environmental targets.

Working with Oracle and partner Neos, mStart deployed Oracle Big Data Appliance alongside Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting and Replenishment Optimization and supporting Oracle technologies to deliver near-real-time store insights. The solution enabled same-day price and promotion changes, smarter replenishment and personalized loyalty offers, reduced hardware and energy use, improved decision-making, and is expected to cut transportation costs by around 10% within three years while lowering CO2 emissions.
