The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing needed to replace a fragmented municipal data center environment with a more secure, centralized IT infrastructure that could improve service delivery, ensure business continuity, and reduce rising license and maintenance costs. Oracle was selected to help the ministry modernize its database environment with Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer and Oracle Active Data Guard.

Oracle consolidated the ministry’s Oracle databases onto Exadata Cloud@Customer without interruption, improving availability, scalability, performance, and security. The results included a 60% reduction in database license costs, response times cut from 3 seconds to 1 second, and stronger disaster recovery and data governance, helping Oracle support faster, better municipal services for Saudi citizens.
