A Oracle Case Study
Minerals Technologies Inc., a global resource- and technology-based specialty-minerals company with more than 4,200 employees and operations across 60 plants, faced the challenge of integrating the expansive IT footprint of its AMCOL acquisition—unifying six general ledgers and about 100 applications while adding 3,000 employees in 30 countries—and of gaining timely, global visibility into financial, manufacturing, and logistics data while reducing IT complexity and reporting turnaround times.
Minerals implemented a single instance of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1 on Oracle Managed Cloud Services to standardize operations and enable rapid expansion across new geographies and business units. Using Oracle Financials, Enterprise Asset Management and integrated CRM, the company cut month-end close from nine days to three, moved to weekly sales reporting, improved cash and warranty visibility, supported recipe-based manufacturing and ~1,200 monthly shipments, and lowered IT support burdens while improving system reliability and scalability.
