LifeCell Ensures Compliance and Donor Tissue Traceability with Simplified Manufacturing Process

LifeCell, a Bridgewater, New Jersey–based developer of tissue regeneration products with about 900 employees, needed to modernize and simplify manufacturing and quality processes for its tissue product lines. The company faced challenges tracing products back to original tissue donors or porcine hide, moving from paper-based tracking to an online system, de-customizing legacy applications to simplify support, and expanding capabilities to meet growing demand and usability needs.

LifeCell upgraded to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3 and implemented Oracle Process Manufacturing, MES, Quality, Inventory/Order Management and training tools (with IBM as implementation partner), enabling online traceability and streamlined processes. The solution standardized new product introductions and sped time to market, reduced non-conformance reports, ensured traceability and compliance with regulations such as 21 CFR 11/1271/820 and AATB standards, and shortened user onboarding through Oracle User Productivity Kit.
