Les Trois Rois is a five-star historic hotel in Basel that opened a luxurious, enclosed Cigar Lounge but faced a legal constraint: bartenders were not allowed to enter the room, and the hotel didn’t want guests to have to leave the lounge every time they wanted to order food or drinks.

Working with Oracle Hospitality, the hotel installed table-mounted iPads linked to the Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform so guests can view high-resolution menus, place orders, and add items to a single tab; orders go directly to the bartender and the iPad notifies guests when items are ready. The solution preserved the lounge’s exclusive experience, streamlined service and billing, and delivered the convenient, high-quality guest service the hotel sought.
