TruGreen, the largest lawn-care provider in the U.S. with more than 2.3 million customers, 200 branches and 13,000 employees, needed to modernize an obsolete ERP inherited at its 2014 spin-off. The company was running a 2003 JD Edwards stack with deprecated IBM WebSphere and DB2 on AIX, plus disjointed processes and a distributed, seasonal workforce—creating performance, support and agility challenges.

TruGreen engaged Velocity Technology Solutions to implement a hybrid cloud, archiving historical data to Velocity’s private cloud and deploying JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS) using automated orchestration. The move delivered immediate benefits: 4–5x faster performance with a 0.09s average user response time, 30–40% lower TCO, faster financial reporting, simpler management, stronger isolation/security and positive cash flow within a month, enabling further expansion of JD Edwards capabilities.
