The University of Santiago, a major public university in Chile serving 23,000 students, needed to replace an aging, on‑prem campus management system that was costly to maintain, lacked modern features and integration, and required significant infrastructure investment. The university engaged Astute, a long‑time Oracle partner, to evaluate options and modernize its campus solution.

Astute implemented Oracle PeopleSoft 9.2 with PeopleTools 8.55 on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure—using PeopleSoft Cloud Manager, Oracle Database Cloud Service, multiple availability domains and Oracle Management Cloud—to migrate data and deploy dev/test and production environments. The proof of concept was delivered in days and the full rollout completed in under six months; the managed solution cut overall costs by 35%, improved security and availability, enabled faster updates and a better Fluid UI user experience, and paved the way to move additional applications to the cloud.
