LAC reduces costs 64% after migrating from MariaDB to Oracle HeatWave MySQL

LAC, a leading cybersecurity company in Japan, was facing slowing performance in its threat intelligence platform as data volumes grew. Its MariaDB-based environment on Amazon EC2 was becoming more expensive to scale, forcing the company to move to larger instances just to maintain performance. LAC turned to Oracle HeatWave MySQL on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to address the challenge.

Oracle implemented Oracle HeatWave MySQL on OCI, consolidating nine MariaDB instances into a single managed database instance for LAC. The migration simplified data management, improved operational efficiency, and cut query times from over an hour to under 2 minutes. Most notably, LAC reduced costs by 64% after moving to Oracle.
