A Oracle Case Study
Kinsus Interconnect Technology, a Taiwan-based semiconductor manufacturer, needed a stronger disaster recovery and business continuity plan as its IT dependence grew. Its previous remote DR setup relied on backup hardware in a separate data center and took at least one day to recover, creating high infrastructure costs and operational risk. Kinsus turned to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Database services to support its core Oracle-based applications and improve sustainable operations.
Oracle implemented disaster recovery on OCI using Oracle Active Data Guard, site-to-site VPN, and SQL Server AlwaysOn Log Shipping across multiple cloud regions. The result was a reduction in recovery time from 24 hours to 4 hours, with recovery point objective under 1 hour in most cases. Kinsus also lowered data-loss risk, eliminated the need to run a remote facility, reduced hardware and staffing costs, and gained more flexible, on-demand testing and licensing through Oracle Cloud.
