A Oracle Case Study
KEMET, a Yageo company that ships more than 50 billion electronic components annually, faced deteriorating data-warehouse performance after moving from its data center to Azure. The slower batch reporting prevented timely, accurate inventory visibility for business users, and with plans to retire its own data center KEMET needed a cloud solution that provided dedicated compute, storage, and optimized network connectivity.
KEMET migrated its data warehouse to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure using Bare Metal Dense Compute with NVMe SSDs and Oracle FastConnect-based SD‑WAN, and reinstated Oracle Database and E‑Business Suite operations in OCI. Batch times fell dramatically—an inventory load job from ~5.3 hours to under 1 hour, another from ~12.5 to ~2.15 hours, and the overall daily run from 23.5 to about 6 hours (≈75% faster)—allowing IT to meet SLAs and restoring better performance than their prior on‑premises environment.
