Keep Sea Blue tackles marine plastic pollution with Oracle Blockchain

Keep Sea Blue, a nonprofit in Athens, Greece, wanted to reduce plastic pollution in the Mediterranean and create a more transparent, circular plastic-waste supply chain. To do that, it needed a trusted technology partner and a way to track materials from collection through recycling and reuse, so it chose Oracle and Oracle Blockchain Platform along with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle APEX.

Oracle helped Keep Sea Blue build its Recovered Seaside Plastic platform, creating a secure digital record of transactions across the plastics value chain. As a result, Keep Sea Blue can trace waste end to end, has strengthened trust with stakeholders, and now collects about 150 tons of plastic bottles per month, turning waste into reusable raw material.
