A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the Informationsverarbeitung für Versicherungen Case Study

Informationsverarbeitung für Versicherungen Runs Applications 1.8x Faster, Cuts Compliance Reporting Overhead 10x, and Boosts Customer Satisfaction

Informationsverarbeitung für Versicherungen (ivv) is a Hannover-based IT provider for public insurers in Germany that designs, develops, and hosts Java and COBOL insurance applications and SAP systems for about 7,000 agents across 1,000 locations. ivv needed a secure, high-performance, multi-tenant platform to support real-time operations, protect sensitive customer data, and reduce compliance and operational overhead.

ivv deployed Oracle SPARC T7-2 servers with Oracle Solaris 11.3, using SPARC encryption, Solaris security and compliance tools, read-only virtualization/Kernel Zones, and role-based controls. The new platform delivered up to 1.9x faster encryption, 2x memory-bandwidth for Java (improving GC and response times), 1.8x faster SAP CPU/I/O, 2x faster DB2 install and queries, and a tenfold reduction in compliance reporting overhead—resulting in faster applications, stronger data protection, and higher customer satisfaction.
