Case Study: IFFCO cuts IT overhead by 30%+ and deploys an enterprise voice assistant with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Digital Assistant

A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the IFFCO Case Study

IFFCO reduces IT overhead costs by more than 30% with Oracle

IFFCO, the world’s largest cooperative fertilizer manufacturer with 36,000 member cooperatives, $4B in annual revenue, and 5,000 employees serving 5.5 million farmers, needed a more reliable, highly available IT foundation and a way to make its systems accessible to users with limited literacy. Its core systems are tightly integrated with national government portals and logistics platforms, so IFFCO planned to migrate about 95 applications to the cloud and add a voice interface so field workers, transporters, and plant staff could interact with systems without relying on written interfaces.

IFFCO migrated to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and adopted Oracle Digital Assistant (with Oracle Database Cloud Service) to deliver robust, scalable infrastructure and a voice-enabled chatbot (Hindi and English). The move cut IT overhead by roughly 30–40%, reduced data‑center, power and cooling costs, and lowered IT headcount needs to about one third of an on‑premises model. Employees now get faster, always‑available systems and quicker reporting, and the voice capability is being extended to farmers—projected to unlock an estimated $300–$400M in additional sales.
