ICBF accelerates agtech analytics and services with Oracle Exadata Cloud

The Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF) needed a more scalable, reliable way to support its fast-growing cattle breeding and genomics databases as data volumes and real-time transactions surged. After moving from on-premises infrastructure, ICBF worked with Oracle, using Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer and Exadata Database Service in OCI to modernize its IT environment and support 24/7 access for more than 100,000 farmers and stakeholders.

Oracle implemented Exadata Cloud@Customer X8M and a modern disaster recovery setup in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, giving ICBF elastic compute, stronger security, and higher availability. The results were significant: a preseason job that once took about 1 hour and 15 minutes now finishes in just 1 minute, downtime was effectively eliminated, and ICBF reports millions of dollars in cost savings across its stakeholder community.
