A Oracle Case Study
Hyosung FMS Inc., a Seoul-based electronic payments provider, needed to ensure stable, always-on payment processing while handling about 2 TB of daily transaction data (electronic funds transfers, tax invoices, images). The company’s goals were faster daily backups, simpler table-level recovery and encryption, increased storage capacity to retain year-long e-commerce records, and improved IT productivity to support rapid business growth.
By upgrading directly to Oracle Database 12c with partner support, Hyosung FMS cut daily backups from seven hours to three by running parallel full and table-level backups, reduced DBA workload by spacing reorganization tasks further apart, and reclaimed storage using Automatic Data Optimization. Adaptive Query Optimization reduced payment delays, Online Move Datafile eliminated downtime for file moves, and Transparent Data Encryption protected sensitive customer data while simplifying encryption management—delivering higher availability, better customer service, and a multitenant-ready foundation for future cloud migration.
