Hospital de Denia Implements Paperless Hospital Management Platform, Improving Efficiency by Automating and Integrating Processes

Marina Salud’s Hospital de Dénia is a 209‑bed public hospital in Dénia, Spain, that operates on a per‑capita funding model and prioritizes efficiency, teamwork, and customer orientation. The hospital needed a paperless, integrated business‑process platform to unify accounting, purchasing, maintenance, medical inventory, HR and patient records, improve cross‑departmental communication, and ensure consistent, transparent data and workflows.

Hospital de Dénia deployed Oracle E‑Business Suite R12.1 for integrated financials and PeopleSoft Human Resources for paperless HR processes (onboarding, pay stubs, leave and shift management), enabling end‑to‑end inventory tracking and clinical data access. Results included a 35% reduction in medicine and surgical stock through automated purchasing and inventory, the ability to handle seasonal demand spikes, a 10% faster access to patient histories, standardized data to eliminate duplicates, and improved clinical alerts, collaboration, efficiency and cost control.
