Hitachi Working to Move 650 Global Subsidiaries to Centralized Recruiting Gains More Effective Hiring Practices

Hitachi, Ltd. is a global conglomerate with more than 900 subsidiaries (over 650 outside Japan) and roughly 300,000+ employees, spanning industries from IT and power systems to automotive and social infrastructure. As part of a “one Hitachi” HR transformation, the company lacked centralized visibility into recruiting across its diverse subsidiaries and IT environments, making it difficult to forecast hiring and standardize talent-management practices.

Working with Oracle Consulting, Hitachi implemented Oracle Talent Acquisition Cloud to provide a single, flexible recruiting platform that supports global branding while accommodating local needs. After a 37-company pilot and phased rollouts (bringing about 80 subsidiaries live so far, including targeted deployments in China), the solution now enables centralized reporting for workforce planning, streamlined hiring processes, and a shared-service model with on-demand rollouts for remaining entities.
