Hand Picked Hotels is a portfolio of 20 country‑house properties across the UK and Channel Islands offering fine dining, spas and event services. In 2012 the group needed to replace manual payment processes to meet PCI‑DSS requirements and modernize front‑desk transactions across multiple locations.

Hand Picked implemented Oracle Hospitality OPERA Property Cloud Service, piloting in the central reservations office before rolling out to each hotel with Chip & PIN devices and integrated payment workflows. The new system automated card authorisations, eliminated manual entry, sped up check‑in/check‑out, reduced errors and improved security—freeing staff to focus on guests and moving the group toward full PCI compliance.
