A Oracle Case Study
Graham’s North Island Hospitals Project (NIHP) is a public‑private partnership to deliver two linked hospitals in the Comox Valley and Campbell River, requiring tight coordination across a 153‑bed and a 95‑bed site 45 km apart. With a project team of more than 500 people from 100 organizations, heavy document/version volumes, strict PPP and LEED Gold compliance, and high public visibility, Graham needed a way to manage workflows, communications and auditability across both sites.
Using Oracle Aconex (including Aconex Field) for document control, correspondence, workflows and defect management, the project achieved a complete searchable audit trail and improved visibility for PPP reporting. Key results included a 90% reduction in tender solicitation cycles (from one day to under an hour for 32 tender packages and 202 invitations), a 50% faster RFI turnaround saving about C$60,000 per year, and an 80–85% reduction in time to log and distribute defects (from 15 minutes to 2 minutes).
