Case Study: GO Outdoors halves data-load time, accelerates reporting and deploys BI to all stores with Oracle

A Oracle Case Study

Preview of the GO Outdoors Case Study

GO Outdoors Halves Data-Load Time, Shortens Reporting, and Expands Business Intelligence to All Stores

GO Outdoors Ltd., the UK’s largest chain of outdoor superstores with 51 locations and online sales, needed to boost data‑warehouse performance to support rapid expansion. The company struggled with slow ETL loads that sometimes weren’t finished by store opening, long report generation (up to 27 minutes), and a goal to expand self‑service BI from about 40 head‑office users to every store manager.

Working with Oracle Specialized Partner Peak Indicators, GO Outdoors upgraded to Oracle Database, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, and Oracle VM Server, consolidating its private‑cloud data center. The result: report times fell from 27 minutes to 45 seconds, overnight builds dropped from 5.5 hours to two hours, BI was deployed across all 51 stores (about 120 users), and the company gained scalable, centralized, up‑to‑date reporting to support roughly ten new stores per year.
