Georg Fischer Central Plastics Gains 68.7% to 76.3% in Inventory Accuracy for Piping Products and Increases Shipments by 50%

Georg Fischer Central Plastics LLC (GFCP), a Shawnee, Oklahoma–based industrial manufacturer with about 500 employees that supplies more than 10,000 piping components across North America, needed a modern enterprise application environment to support growth, improve inventory and packaging fulfillment, and gain better operational insight. The company was challenged by manual, error-prone processes that led to inventory inaccuracy, late shipments, and limited visibility for production planning and customer commitments.

GFCP upgraded to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1 (with multiple Oracle modules) with support from Lucidity Consulting, standardizing and automating manufacturing, inventory, and order-management workflows and enabling paperless, handheld-driven processes. As a result, inventory accuracy rose from 68.7% to 76.3%, shipments increased 50%, late shipments fell from 44.6% to 25.3%, and annual inventory turns improved from 2.3x to 4.2x—achieved in an implementation of roughly six months.
