A Oracle Case Study
General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) is a Saudi government agency that manages social insurance for more than 500,000 registered establishments and 10.2 million contributors, processing tens of millions of transactions annually (for example, 27 million electronic transactions in its Registration and Contribution Services division). Facing legacy database servers and SANs that limited performance, risked downtime, and constrained management reporting, GOSI needed a modern, scalable engineered system with robust redundancy and disaster recovery to ensure business continuity and enable active data analysis.
GOSI migrated its Oracle Database to Oracle Exadata (half-rack) with a remote disaster-recovery installation and Oracle Active Data Guard, cutting daily batch processing from 5 hours to 15 minutes (20x faster), eliminating planned outages, and achieving continuous availability. The new platform also delivers synchronized data for Oracle Business Intelligence, giving senior managers and regulators on-demand analytical reports to detect fraud, forecast workforce and pension needs, and support timely decision-making.
