Fugro Norway Customizes Planning and Budgeting for Leaner Company Structure with Cloud Service, Saving Significant Time and Costs

Fugro Norway AS, the Norwegian arm of Fugro—the world’s largest integrator of geotechnical, survey, subsea and geoscience services—supports engineering and large-structure projects primarily for the oil and gas sector from its Oslo office. After selling a large division the company needed to redesign financial planning and budgeting to fit a much leaner organization, operate with half the IT staff, streamline highly specialized and complex planning processes, improve financial information exchange with regional offices, and reduce reporting errors and time spent on analyses.

Fugro implemented Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (Oracle Cloud EPM), with migration support from Oracle and partner Affecto Norge, to create a lightweight, cloud-based planning environment that required minimal local IT maintenance. The solution was customized for the smaller user base, improved visibility across the organization, streamlined detailed geotechnical budgeting and multi-currency reporting, and reduced time, costs and error risk while strengthening the basis for faster business decisions.
