Colt Data Centre Services, a global operator of hyperscale data centers, needed a better way to run its growing Oracle Database 19c environment, which had been hosted on Microsoft Azure virtual machines. The setup was struggling to keep pace with business expansion and was driving high hosting and support costs, while the team spent time hotfixing the platform.

Oracle, using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Database Cloud Service with Microsoft Azure Interconnect, helped Colt move to a native multicloud architecture. The implementation was completed in two months instead of six, delivered latency as low as 1.1 milliseconds, and achieved zero outages. Oracle also helped Colt cut costs by about 15%, with further savings expected, while improving security and reliability.
