FedEx Moves Accounts Receivable System to Oracle Cloud

FedEx needed to modernize a large, mission-critical accounts receivable and billing environment that supported about 75% of its receivables and more than 15.5 million packages a day. Working with Oracle and using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Exadata Cloud Service, and Oracle E-Business Suite, the company aimed to reduce data center dependence, cut costs, and handle growing scale and seasonal demand more efficiently.

Oracle helped FedEx migrate more than 500 terabytes of production data and related applications to OCI, with Oracle Advanced Customer Services supporting the implementation. The move delivered lower compute costs, better performance and reliability, faster month- and quarter-end close, daily global collections analysis, and double-digit performance improvements for GUI-based applications, while also giving FedEx more flexible scaling and more time for strategic IT work.
