Evergy, which delivers electricity to more than 1.6 million customers across Kansas and Missouri, needed to consolidate multiple operational systems and streamline operator responsibilities by improving interoperability between OT systems, real‑time visibility, and remote control capabilities.

Evergy implemented Oracle Utilities Live Energy Connect (LEC) with Oracle Utilities NMS to act as a middleware integration platform, protocol translator, data cleaner, OT message bus, and modular hub. In under six months the company integrated more than 3,000 automated devices and 90,000 data points, reduced operator screens from six to two, cut the time and cost of data aggregation, and successfully handled a major outage soon after go‑live; Evergy is now planning to scale the system to meet growing automation demands.
