Euformatics faced the challenge of rapidly introducing next-generation sequencing (NGS) testing in a laboratory and needed to validate its first assays while establishing a consistent, repeatable quality control process for reliable clinical diagnostics. The lab also had to build NGS expertise quickly and ensure the workflow could meet quality and accreditation requirements.

Oracle’s Sample Quality Control solution, combined with specialist consultancy, helped Euformatics validate its first NGS test and set up an ongoing QC framework. The system enabled automated coverage analysis, concordance checks, and low-coverage flagging, helping the lab identify an optimal read depth of around 2000 and uncover a BED file error that was then corrected; this improved sensitivity, precision, and confidence in the data used for diagnosis.
